God Has Been Misrepresented
Over the centuries there have been many misconceptions about God and His true nature. He has been misrepresented to us by legalistic religious leaders and angry earthly fathers who have, by their lifestyles, distorted His true image. God is not distant and angry as many of the renaissance paintings portrayed Him. The truth is that He is loving, kind and gentle. In fact, you could say that He is the nicest Person in the universe! |

God is Love
The Bible says that God is love and He is a real Father. When you combine those two attributes, you will realize that God is a loving Father and the longing of His heart has always been that you would know that He really loves you! Though He partnered with your earthly parents when you were conceived, you originated in His heart long before He created the world!

Father's Original Intent
God's original plan in the Garden of Eden was that humanity's first couple (Adam and Eve) would live forever in His loving presence. And in that place of perfect love, they would raise children who would be loved completely as well.
It was the Father's hope that each generation would grow up in the light of His love so they would never know a day of rejection or pain. In this perfect place of goodness, each child would flourish and become all that the Father intended for them to be.

Love Cannot Be Forced
However, love is not something that can be forced upon someone, so God gave Adam and Eve the privilege of a free will. They had the freedom to trust God and stay in the garden and they had the freedom to disobey Him and live their own life and leave. In the book of Genesis we read that the latter happened and as a result of their choice to become independent, they became separated from God. Their choice to walk in their own ways brought devastating consequences. |

Broken Relationships
As a result of Adam and Eve's actions, a new deadly disease called 'sin' infected humanity. The world that God originally intended to be perfect and full of love, was now wrought with pain and suffering because of the consequences of sin. Hurting people tend to hurt others, which is a legacy that has been passed on from generation to generation from the moment that Adam and Eve left the garden until today.
As a result of Adam and Eve's actions, a new deadly disease called 'sin' infected humanity. Since God created us for love, we are all born with a great expectation to be loved and accepted. It is a scientific fact that babies who are not shown loving touch in the first few months of their lives can be physically and emotionally damaged.
Unfortunately our parents could only express the love that they had first received from their parents. As a result, many of us have grown up with love deficits in our hearts. While we may know we are missing something, we might not be able to identify the emptiness that resides in the deepest part of our being.

Filling The Void
All we know is that we need to try and fill the emptiness somehow. Some try to fill this void in relationships, others in performance and success. And others seek to dull the emptiness with addictions and empty pursuits of things that never live up to their promised fulfillment. The reality is, that no matter what we do, if we do not encounter what we really need, we will always be left with a feeling of emptiness in the deepest part of our being. |

Having A Personal Relationship With God
There is only one place where we will find the true love and acceptance that we were created to experience and that is in a personal relationship with the One who created us. We were all born with a God sized "hole in our soul" that can only be filled by God Himself. While many of us have tried to fill this void with other things, it is like putting a square peg in a round hole... it just doesn't fit. |

The Good News!!!
The good news is that God wants to be in a relationship with us MORE than we want to be in a relationship with Him! It was because of His great love and His desire to be reconciled with us that He sent His one and only Son into the world two thousand years ago. It is amazing to think that the One who knit us together in our mother's womb desires to be in a living, loving relationship with us. While we became His offspring through our natural birth, it is His desire that we would actually become His children through a new spiritual birth. |

Finding Our Way Home
Though God has always wanted to be reconnected with His lost children, there was still this issue of 'sin' that had to be dealt with. That is why our Heavenly Father made a way for us to come home by sending His only son, Jesus Christ to destroy the power of "sin" once and for all. In obedience to His Father, Jesus took upon Himself the weight of all our sin, nailing it to a cross when He died at Calvary. In His last breath, He cried out words that would change the destiny of mankind forever when He shouted... "Forgive them Father, for they know not what they do!" |

Jesus Christ Is The Way To The Father
Three days later, Jesus rose from the grave, conquering sin and death once and for all for you and me. His sacrifice paved the way for all of us to be able to come home to our Heavenly Father. In John 14:6, Jesus says, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me". Because of what Jesus did on our behalf, we now have full access to Almighty God any time, night or day. The sacrifice of His life was the only price that could be paid for our redemption so that we could be fully restored to the family of God. |

Would You Like To Receive This Gift?
If we simply say 'yes' and receive God's greatest gift, the life of His Son Jesus Christ, we receive the right to become God's kids! The highest price has already been paid to secure your salvation. All you have to do is receive it by saying 'yes!' to Jesus' invitation to come home. . God has promised to give you a new heart and a fresh start in life. It is His gift of eternal life that comes completely free to those who will simply believe it to be true. If you have a desire to come home, the words below may help you express your thoughts to God. It's not these exact words that will save you, but the attitude of your heart towards your Heavenly Father. |

Father, I want to come home. I believe that you love me and that you sent your only Son to die for me. I turn from my own ways of doing things and I turn towards Jesus. I receive the free gift of His life in exchange for my old life. I place my faith and trust in Jesus alone to save me.
Thank you Jesus for dying for me and forgiving all of my sin. I receive you as my Savior and my Lord. I want to follow and serve you all the days of my life. Thank you for being the way for me to come home. Amen.
