And to tell you that I am not counting your sins.
2 Corinthians 5:19
namely, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to himself, not reckoning to them their trespasses, and having committed to us the word of reconciliation. (WEB)
Father God is righteous and holy and therefore sin cannot dwell in His presence. This presents a problem for humans, who are born with a sin nature. Therefore, by God’s great mercy, mankind’s sinfulness was dealt with once and for all by the death of Jesus Christ. Because of the cross, when God looks at His children, He does not see their sin but only the precious blood of His Son, Jesus. Because of Jesus’ sacrifice, you have been reconciled to God. What a glorious thought: God does not count your sins against you!
PRAYER
Father, I believe that You are not an angry judge, but You are my loving Father. I thank You for sending Your Son, Jesus Christ, to die on a cross for me to take upon Himself all my sins. I thank You that His death, burial and resurrection have made a way for me to be completely forgiven and fully reconciled to You as Your little child. Amen.
