His death was the ultimate expression of my love for you.
1 John 4:10
In this is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son as the atoning sacrifice for our sins. (WEB)
It is one thing to say the words “I love you,” but it is quite another thing to prove your love. God not only said that He loved us; He demonstrated it practically by sending us His only Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. When you struggle to believe that God loves you, you need not go any farther than the cross to see the full expression of His love.
You are absolutely and completely loved by God. May the cross of Christ serve as an eternal token of the Father’s affection for you.
PRAYER
Father, please forgive me for the times when I have questioned Your love for me. I believe that You have demonstrated that love once and for all through the cross of Christ. I pray that the truth of Your love for me will be the bedrock of my faith even during the times that I don’t feel loved. Amen.
