I am not distant and angry but am the complete expression of love.
1 John 4:16
We know and have believed the love which God has for us. God is love, and he who remains in love remains in God, and God remains in him. (WEB)
Quite a few years ago there was a popular song that said that God was watching the world from a distance. The truth is that God is closer to you than you could possibly imagine. The Bible says, “God is love”. That concept is the foundation of the gospel. His love overflows to His children so that they can love Him back and have the ability to love others, too. He wants you to bask in His loving presence so that His love can touch the deepest need of your heart.
PRAYER
Father, I acknowledge that You are the complete expression of love. Thank You that Your love for me is unconditional and without limit. I pray for an increased capacity for my heart to soak in Your sumptuous love every day, causing it to fill up, overflow and spill into every person that I meet. Amen.
